Sonia Roberts was drawn to performing and dancing at a young age. She created her first choreographed dance piece at age 8. While at UC Berkeley she studied modern dance, ballet, choreography and spent two summers studying intensively in New York City at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center. Her love for music, dance, healing and helping others led her into the world of yoga and she has now been teaching yoga for over 7 years. Sonia's teaching style emphasizes body awareness, alignment, breath and the integration of mindfulness. She is committed to helping her students deepen their understanding of themselves through their yoga practice and having fun doing so. She humbly relies on her own practice and intuition to influence her teaching. Sonia completed Piedmont Yoga studio 2-year teacher training, studying with Richard Rosen, Rodney Yee, Clare Finn and Maritza. Sonia also completed Jane Austin's Pre-Natal Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Tree in San Francisco. She has trained mainly in the Iyengar tradition, but loves to integrate other styles of yoga and movement into her classes. Sonia has a BA in Social Welfare and Dance Minor from UC Berkeley. She is passionately committed to assisting individuals improve overall well-being and devoted to helping others discover their inner peace through yoga and meditation.

My intention is to live each day with a heart full of gratitude and hope that each of us may experience love, joy, wisdom and wonder in this life, just as it is.
