Sonia Roberts love for music, dance, and helping others led her into the world of yoga. Sonia's teaching style emphasizes body awareness, alignment, breath and the integration of mindfulness. She humbly relies on her own practice and intuition to influence her teaching. Sonia completed Piedmont Yoga studio 2-year teacher training, studying with Richard Rosen, Rodney Yee, Clare Finn and Maritza. Sonia also completed Jane Austin's Pre-Natal Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Tree in San Francisco. Sonia's pre-natal yoga classes help prepare the mother-to-be for not only the best birthing experience possible, but for motherhood. She is currently attending YogaWorks 200-hour teacher training. Her training is mainly in the Iyengar tradition, but her teaching has been influenced by many teachers and traditions, including Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Anusara. Sonia has a BA in Social Welfare and Dance Minor from UC Berkeley. She is devoted to helping others discover their inner peace through yoga and meditation. As a lifelong student, Sonia continues to study the many facets of yoga. Her life as a new mother has given her an abundance of opportunity for deepening her yoga practice.
My intention is to live each day with a heart full of gratitude and hope that each of us may experience love, joy, wisdom and wonder in this life, just as it is.
